A Glass of Morning Juice

A Dallas Maid Saved Her Boss From A Lethal Secret

Arthur stood near the floor-to-ceiling windows of his Dallas penthouse looking out over the city skyline.

The morning light poured across the white marble countertops in the kitchen.

He raised a fresh glass of orange juice toward his lips to take his first morning sip.

Suddenly a hand reached out and snatched the crystal glass right out of his fingers.

Arthur stepped back in shock as the liquid splashed onto the spotless white floor.

Arthur: What on earth are you doing?

Emily stood before him with trembling hands while holding the heavy crystal glass tightly.

Emily: Stop, don't drink that!

Arthur: Have you lost your mind, Emily?

Emily: Sir, please listen to me before you take a single sip.

Arthur wiped a drop of juice from his tailored suit jacket and narrowed his eyes.

He had hired Emily six months ago to manage the luxury apartment and maintain the estate.

She was always quiet, polite, and completely dedicated to her daily duties around the penthouse.

Arthur: You just grabbed a glass right out of my hand.

Emily: I had no choice, sir.

Arthur: You better have a very good explanation for this behavior.

Emily: That drink is dangerous for you to consume, sir.

The sound of sharp high heels echoed rapidly down the long marble hallway leading from the master bedroom.

Victoria swept into the kitchen wearing a radiant red dress and an angry expression on her face.

Her red lipstick matched her polished nails as she pointed an angry finger at the young maid.

Victoria: What are you doing in here making all this noise?

Emily: I am trying to protect Mr. Sterling, ma'am.

Victoria: You are a housekeeper, not his personal security guard.

Arthur: Victoria, calm down for a second and let her speak.

Victoria: Why are you listening to her crazy claims, Arthur?

Emily: Because I saw what happened right here ten minutes ago.

Victoria crossed her arms tight across her chest and stepped closer to her wealthy husband.

The tension in the open kitchen grew heavier as Arthur looked back and forth between both women.

He knew his wife cared deeply about their status, their money, and their reputation in society.

He also knew that Emily had never raised her voice or caused a problem until this exact moment.

Arthur reached out to take the glass back from Emily's hands so he could inspect the clear juice.

Emily pulled the glass away immediately and stepped back toward the marble counter for safety.

Emily: Do not touch it, Mr. Sterling.

Victoria: She has completely lost her sanity, Arthur!

Victoria: Fire her right now and call security to throw her out!

Emily: I am not leaving until you see the truth.

Arthur adjusted his necktie and looked closely at Emily's pale face and red cheeks.

He noticed a faint bruise near her cheekbone that had not been there the day before.

Something terrible was taking place inside his private home, and he needed answers immediately.
