The quiet tension inside the Dallas luxury mansion foyer was thick enough to cut with a knife.
Julian stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Chloe under the large American flag hanging near the stairs.
He looked stern and conflicted, caught between his loyalty to his bride and his sense of fairness.
Julian: Clara, just apologize so we can move past this unfortunate scene.
Chloe: She needs to be fired immediately and thrown out into the street!
Clara took a deep breath to steady her rapid breathing and stood as tall as she could.
She reached down into her white apron pocket with a firm and steady hand.
She pulled out a dark smartphone with a cracked screen protector.
Clara: I will not apologize for something I did not do, Mr. Vance.
Chloe: Put that stupid phone away and start cleaning up this mess right now!
Clara ignored Chloe's harsh shouting and unlocked the phone screen with her thumb.
She tapped the video player app and turned the bright screen around toward the couple.
Clara: I think you need to see this video before you decide my future here.
Julian stepped forward with a slight frown, looking curiously at the small digital display.
Chloe tried to snatch the phone out of Clara's hand, but Julian held out his arm to stop her.
Julian: Wait a minute, Chloe, let me see what she is talking about.
The recorded video clip began playing out loud with clear audio and crisp visual quality.
On the screen, Chloe was clearly visible picking the lock of Julian's desk drawer in his private study.
The video clearly showed her stealing the private trust fund documents and stuffing them into her bag.
Then, the audio captured Chloe's angry voice making death threats against Clara's family.
The phone screen showed Chloe grabbing Clara and scratching her face with her long fingernails.
A sharp gasp swept through the entire mansion as the guests watched the clear digital proof.
The bright screen left no room for doubts or clever excuses.
Julian's eyes widened in total disbelief as he stared at his fiancée's actions on the video screen.
The calm composure he usually maintained vanished instantly from his pale face.
He turned his head slowly to look at Chloe, who had gone completely white with panic.
