Justice Served Cold

Before Arthur could run down the grand staircase to attack her again, the massive front gates of the Dallas mansion swung open with a loud metallic screech. Three black police sedans sped down the long driveway, their tires squealing as they brought their vehicles to an abrupt stop across the courtyard stone. Sirens wailed loudly, filling the quiet suburban neighborhood with the undeniable sound of swift legal justice arriving at last.

Detectives jumped out of the cars with guns drawn, immediately pointing their weapons up toward the balcony where Arthur and Victoria stood completely frozen in fear. Hannah's private investigator had been monitoring her live audio feed from a parked vehicle outside the main gates the entire time. The moment Arthur had shoved Hannah over the railing, the investigator had dispatched the local police unit directly to the scene of the crime.

Officer Miller: Keep your hands where we can see them! Do not move!

Arthur: This is a massive misunderstanding, officer! She trespassed on my property and fell by accident!

Officer Miller: We have the entire incident recorded on live streaming video, sir! Step away from the railing now!

Victoria began to weep uncontrollably, clutching her expensive beige dress as officers rushed up the interior stairs to place heavy steel handcuffs on her wrists. Arthur tried to pull away from the arresting officers, but he was quickly slammed against the white wall of the mansion and cuffed behind his back. The arrogance that had defined them for months was completely shattered in a matter of seconds under the unrelenting sun.

Paramedics rushed to Hannah's side, gently placing a neck brace on her and lifting her onto a soft canvas stretcher. Despite her broken ribs, deep facial bruises, and aching body, Hannah felt lighter than she had in months as she held the silver flash drive firmly in her fist. Her father's memory had been honored, his true will would now be legally restored, and the thieves who tried to destroy her life were heading straight to state prison for attempted murder and grand theft fraud.

Paramedic: Hold still, ma'am. You took a very dangerous fall off that high balcony.

Hannah: I might be bruised, but I survived. And now, my father can finally rest in peace.

As the ambulance doors closed, Hannah looked back one last time at the grand mansion, watching her stepbrother and stepmother being loaded into the back of police cars in complete disgrace. The long nightmare was finally over, and justice had prevailed over greed.
