The Cold Marble Floor

A Cruel Stepmother Tried To Ruin My Baby Boy

The morning light streamed through the towering stained glass windows of the grand lakeside estate.

David looked down at his tiny nine-month-old son, Leo, who was playing quietly with a silver rattle.

Since his wife passed away during childbirth, David spent every spare moment ensuring Leo felt safe and loved.

He hired Nanny Mary, a kind woman with thirty years of childcare experience, to look after the infant.

Mary cared for little Leo as if he were her own grandson.

However, dark clouds gathered over the family home when Victoria entered David's life three months ago.

Victoria was an ambitious woman who cared deeply about high social standing and family trust funds.

She viewed little Leo not as an innocent baby, but as an obstacle to her future inheritance.

Whenever David was in the room, Victoria pretended to be a loving prospective stepmother.

She bought expensive designer clothes for the baby and smiled brightly for family photos.

But the moment David left for his downtown corporate office, her warm smile completely disappeared.

Mary noticed the sudden change in Victoria's cold eyes whenever the father was away.

One crisp Tuesday afternoon, David had to attend an urgent executive board meeting across town.

He kissed Leo's forehead softly and handed him over to Mary in the main hallway.

"I will be back before dinner," David said with a gentle smile.

Victoria stood on the grand staircase wearing an elegant maroon sequin gown for an evening charity gala.

She watched David's luxury car pull out of the long circular driveway with a calculating glare.

Once the heavy front doors clicked shut, Victoria marched down the marble steps toward the nursery.

Mary was holding little Leo, gently swaying back and forth to lull him to sleep.

Victoria snatched the silver rattle out of the baby's small hands and tossed it onto a shelf.

Victoria: Stop spoiling that child right now!

Nanny Mary: He is just a baby, ma'am.

Victoria: He is a nuisance who takes all of David's attention away from me!

Mary pulled the infant closer to her chest to shelter him from Victoria's sharp, angry voice.

Leo began to whimper, sensing the thick tension filling the high-ceilinged room.

Victoria stepped closer, her eyes flashing with pure malice as she pointed a finger at the floor.

Victoria: Set him down on the cold floor immediately!

Nanny Mary: I cannot do that, ma'am, he needs his afternoon nap.

Victoria grabbed Mary's arm firmly and pushed her away, taking the small baby into her own arms.

Leo began to cry loudly, terrified by the sudden rough movement and harsh words.

Victoria walked out into the grand ballroom where the polished marble floor stretched out like ice.

Mary ran after her, pleading softly for the woman to return the child before anyone got hurt.

Victoria: Cry all you want!

Victoria: You will never belong in this family!

Victoria abruptly set the child down roughly on the cold, hard stone surface near the grand entryway.

Leo wailed loudly, his tiny hands reaching up in desperation for comfort and warmth.

Mary rushed forward immediately, dropping to her knees on the unyielding marble to shield the weeping child.
