Evelyn clutched her pearl necklace, her eyes wide with sudden anger and embarrassment.
"How dare you raise your voice at me in my house!" Evelyn shrieked hysterically.
"You are fired! Pack your things and get out of here right now!"
Clara did not flinch or back away from Evelyn's furious, shrill threats.
"I am not going anywhere until Mr. Sterling knows what you did here!"
Suddenly, the heavy double front doors of the mansion burst open with a crash.
Arthur Sterling stepped inside, wearing his tailored dark burgundy velvet business jacket.
He had forgotten his legal documents and returned home earlier than expected today.
Arthur froze in his tracks as he heard the chaotic shouting in the foyer.
He saw Clara crying while clutching little Leo protectively in her arms.
He saw Evelyn standing near the marble pillar, flushed with intense anger.
"What on earth is happening in my house right now?" Arthur demanded forcefully.
His deep voice boomed through the high-ceilinged room, instantly cutting through the noise.
Evelyn immediately put on a fake smile and rushed toward her wealthy husband.
"Darling, thank goodness you are home!" Evelyn cried out, pretending to be terrified.
"The maid has completely lost her mind and just attacked me for no reason!"
Clara stepped forward boldly, cradling the crying infant close to her chest.
"She is lying to you, Mr. Sterling!" Clara called out with pure honesty.
Arthur looked between the two women, his expression growing dark and extremely tense.
He demanded the complete truth about what had just occurred inside his home.
The hidden truth was finally about to come out into the light.
