The morning sun rose over the estate, casting long shadows across the front driveway.
Richard sat in the main dining room with his high-priced lawyer, Marcus Vance.
They were looking over legal papers while drinking hot coffee from china cups.
Richard wore a neck brace and had a large bandage stuck on his shoulder.
He looked up angrily as Elena walked into the room carrying the black folder.
Richard: You have ten minutes to pack your bags and leave this property.
Marcus: My client is pressing assault charges against you for yesterday's violent attack.
Elena: You pushed a disabled child to the floor, Richard. You belong in prison.
Richard: Nobody will believe a word from a penniless widow like you.
Elena: They won't need to believe me. They will believe Arthur's real will.
She threw the thick black folder onto the center of the wooden dining table.
Marcus looked at Richard before reaching out to pick up the paper pages.
As the lawyer read the stamped legal pages, his face slowly lost all color.
Marcus: Where did you find this document? This was supposed to be destroyed.
Richard: Shut up, Marcus! Don't say another word to her!
Elena: He didn't destroy it because Arthur kept a certified copy in his safe.
Elena: The document you submitted to the county court last month is fake.
Richard stood up so fast that his chair tipped over backward onto the floor.
Richard: That estate is mine! I built this company from the ground up!
Elena: Arthur built it. And now it belongs to his son, Leo.
She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and showed the screen to them.
Elena: The police officers and county sheriff are turning into the driveway right now.
