Eleanor stood tall despite her soaked uniform, radiating power and grace.
She looked around at the crowd of guests who stood in awe.
Eleanor: I dressed as a servant tonight to test my son's bride.
Eleanor: I wanted to see how she treated people when no one was watching.
Eleanor: And she showed us all her true, wicked, selfish nature tonight.
Chloe fell back onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably in utter humiliation.
Chloe: Please, Mrs. Miller, I apologize! I will do anything!
Daniel: The engagement is over, Chloe. Get out of my house.
Chloe: Daniel, no! We were going to get married next month!
Daniel: I would never marry a woman who abuses innocent elderly people.
Daniel motioned for the mansion security guards standing near the entrance.
Two tall guards walked forward and stood on either side of Chloe.
Daniel: Escort Miss Chloe off the property immediately.
Guard: Yes, Mr. Miller. Right away, sir.
The guards grabbed Chloe's arms and pulled her up from the floor.
Chloe: You cannot do this to me! I have rights in this house!
Eleanor: You have no rights here, child. The deed is in my name.
Chloe struggled against the guards as they walked her toward the doors.
Her golden gown was stained with dirty water from her own bucket.
The guests watched in silence as she was dragged out into the night.
The heavy front doors shut firmly behind her with a loud click.
Daniel turned back to his mother with deep shame in his heart.
Daniel: Mom, I am so sorry I brought her into our lives.
Eleanor: It is not your fault, son. She tricked many smart people.
Eleanor adjusted the dark suit jacket around her wet shoulders gently.
Eleanor: But now we know the truth before any legal contracts were signed.
Daniel hugged his mother tightly in front of all the party guests.
The crowd broke out into warm, loud applause for the true matriarch.
Guest: Long live Eleanor Miller! A true lady of character!
