Uncovering The Betrayal

A CEO Finds His Lost Daughter Working As His Wife's Maid

Sarah backed up until her spine hit the hard wood of the display cabinet.

Her expensive makeup was running down her cheeks in messy dark streaks.

Sarah: I did it for us, Richard! She was going to ruin your company reputation!

Richard: By breathing? By existing in my home?

Sarah: She found out about the money transfers!

Richard stopped moving and narrowed his eyes at his frantic wife.

The mention of money transfers sent a sudden chill through his whole body.

For six months, his personal account had shown small, regular business expense withdrawals.

He had trusted Sarah completely with the household management and family trust accounts.

Richard: What money transfers are you talking about, Sarah?

Lily: She was sending your money to her brother, Papa.

Lily spoke up from the sofa, her voice growing stronger every second.

Lily: I came home early on break and saw her printing bank statements.

Lily: She threatened to hurt my dog if I told you about the trust fund.

Sarah: Shut your mouth, you spoiled little brat!

Richard stepped between Sarah and the couch with speed that startled them both.

He raised one finger, pointing it inches away from Sarah's pale nose.

Richard: Do not speak to my daughter again if you want to walk out of here.

Sarah: It was my money too! I am your wife!

Richard: You signed a prenuptial agreement before we ever set foot in this house.

Richard: You have no right to a single dollar of my estate or my daughter's fund.

Sarah let out a bitter, ugly laugh that filled the high-ceilinged room.

Sarah: That prenup only counts if I leave you, Richard! We are still married!

Richard: Not for long. My divorce attorney will have papers served before sunset.

In the distance, the faint sound of police sirens began echoing down the street.

Sarah turned toward the large front door with sudden, panic-driven eyes.

She realized that her comfortable life of luxury was crashing down around her.

She made a sudden dash toward the hallway stairs to reach her master bedroom.

Richard grabbed her wrist firmly, stopping her dead in her tracks.

Richard: You are not hiding any evidence, Sarah. You stay right here.
