Ten minutes later, two paramedics carefully helped Victoria down the stairs, her shoulder neatly bandaged as Lily held her mother's hand every step of the way. Mr. Howell met them at the bottom of the stairs, pulling both of them into a warm, protective embrace.
Victoria: Is it really over, David?
Mr. Howell: It’s completely over, sweetheart. Victor and Arthur are in federal custody. All the stolen accounts have been frozen, and their holding companies are being liquidated as we speak.
Lily: Are we safe now, Daddy?
Mr. Howell: We are completely safe, my sweet girl. Nobody is ever going to hurt you or Mommy ever again.
Maid: Mr. Howell... I’m so sorry I didn't call the police sooner when Victor threatened us...
Mr. Howell: You protected my daughter, Maria. You gave her the towel that saved my wife’s life. You will always have a place with our family, and I’m doubling your salary starting today.
Maid: Oh, Mr. Howell... thank you! God bless you!
The afternoon sun poured brightly through the front windows, illuminating the pristine white marble foyer as the trauma of the past three days finally evaporated into the warm air.
Victoria: What do we do now, David? The house needs repairs... the safe is destroyed...
Mr. Howell: We’re going to take a long family vacation. We'll fly out to our coastal estate in Maui tomorrow morning, and let my security team rebuild this villa while we rest.
Lily: Can we go swimming in the ocean, Daddy?
Mr. Howell: As much as you want, sweetie. Anything you want.
Mr. Howell picked his daughter up in his arms, wrapping his other arm tightly around his wife's waist as they walked together out the front entrance toward the waiting luxury SUV under the clear blue sky.
He looked back one last time at the grand villa, knowing that while wealth and power could be stolen or destroyed in an instant, the fierce love of a family standing together was something no enemy on earth could ever tear apart.
