The following afternoon was quiet until a heavy storm began to brew outside the large mansion.
Richard was scheduled to return from his trip late in the evening around eight o'clock.
Victoria walked into Leo's room with an aggressive look on her face and grabbed his arm.
She wanted to lock him in the distant guest house before his father returned home.
She planned to tell Richard that Leo had thrown a wild tantrum and run away outside.
Leo cried out in fear as Victoria yanked him through the doorway into the main hall.
Victoria: Shut up and move! You have no say in this house!
Leo: Stop it! You are hurting me! Let me go!
Victoria: You will stay out in the cottage until I decide otherwise!
Her voice echoed loudly off the hard marble floor under the huge flag hanging above.
Leo tried to pull back, but Victoria held his wrist firmly and dragged him forward.
Down in the kitchen, Elena heard the desperate cries echoing through the central ventilation shaft.
She dropped her cleaning towel immediately and ran up the grand marble staircase without hesitation.
When Elena reached the main hallway, her heart sank at the awful sight before her.
Victoria was yelling at the frightened child who was weeping on the slippery floor.
Elena sprinted down the long hallway with frantic footsteps loud against the marble blocks.
She threw herself between Victoria and the little boy to shield him completely.
Elena: Don't you dare touch him ever again, Victoria!
Victoria: How dare you get in my way, you pathetic servant!
Elena: I will not stand by and watch you abuse a child!
Victoria: Step aside or I will fire you without a single penny!
Elena stood her ground firmly, wrapping her protective arms around the trembling boy.
She raised her hand and pointed her finger directly at Victoria's arrogant face.
Elena: You are a monster, and Mr. Vance will hear everything today!
Victoria: Nobody will believe a lowly maid over the lady of the house!
Victoria stepped forward aggressively, trying to shove Elena out of her way forcefully.
Elena blocked her path completely, refusing to let Victoria take another single step forward.
