Mark stepped directly between Clara and his small young family.
His dark grey sweater seemed to tense with his anger.
He stared down at his aunt with utter disgust today.
Mark: You put your hands on my baby daughter, Clara?
Clara: I was simply trying to correct her bad behavior!
Mark: She is a baby who cannot even speak words yet!
Clara: She was driving me crazy with that loud toy!
Mark took another step closer until Clara felt backed up.
He raised his right hand and slapped Clara hard across her cheek.
The impact knocked her step back into the dining chair.
Clara let out a small sharp gasp of absolute horror.
She never expected Mark to fight back so directly today.
Mark: Get out of my house before I lose control!
Clara: You hit your own flesh and blood over this!
Mark: You ceased being my family the moment you touched Emma!
Clara: I will make sure you lose your whole inheritance!
Sarah: We do not care about your dirty greedy money!
Sarah held Emma even tighter against her pounding chest now.
The baby's cries began to quiet down into soft hiccups.
Mark walked straight toward the main front entrance door.
He pulled the heavy door open, letting cold snow in.
The icy winter wind blew into the warm living space.
Mark: Take your coat and leave this property right now!
Clara: The family will hear about how you treated me!
Mark: Tell anyone you want, but leave my house immediately!
Clara grabbed her thick black coat off the wooden rack.
Her hands were shaking violently from rage and deep embarrassment.
She looked back at Sarah with eyes full of hatred.
Clara: You ruined this entire family the day you entered!
Sarah: Leave before my husband calls the police on you!
Clara stomped her feet hard into her cold black boots.
She hurried out into the freezing white snowstorm outside.
Mark slammed the door shut behind her with great force.
