The Lancaster Ballroom sparkled beneath crystal chandeliers as wealthy guests gathered for an elegant charity gala.
Music filled the room.
Champagne glasses clinked.
Everything appeared perfect.
Until a young blonde woman crashed onto the polished white floor.
Blood slowly trickled from the corner of her mouth as she struggled to breathe.

The man stared directly into his eyes.

Security immediately rushed into the ballroom and separated the two men while emergency medical personnel were called to help the injured woman.

As the woman was carefully helped onto a stretcher, she looked toward the man who had come to her defense.
