The annual Hope for Families Charity Gala filled the Grand Regency Ballroom in Atlanta, Georgia, with politicians, business leaders, and generous donors. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead while elegant music echoed through the luxurious hall.
Among the honored youth volunteers was seventeen-year-old Lily Carter, wearing a simple red evening dress.
She had spent years raising money for homeless children and had been invited to receive a community service award.
As guests applauded, wealthy socialite Evelyn Bradford approached Lily with a cold smile.
